THIS IS A REPORT AFTER SEEING OTHERS BEING AFFECTED.
At first my experience with Advanced Periodontics went well. I was seen for an initial consultation and was informed for my full denture I would need to have an expensive 3d surgical scan done. I had to pay close to $400 out of pocket for this scan. My insurance one of the so called "Cadillac Plans" did NOT cover this scan. I was given an outrageous estimate of the cost of the implants I had selected. After several days of trying to find financing or a loan or co-signer it quickly became apparent I wouldn't be able to afford my first choice. Luckily, I thought I had had them do the calculations for simple dentures on what I thought would be the off chance I couldn't afford the price with my insurance.
I called them back and let them know that I couldn't afford the expensive implants that they had tried to hard sell on me, and that I would have to go the less expensive route.
After informing Josh of this. He proceeded to instead hound and hassle me to "Find a Co-Signer, ANYBODY!" and "Is there anyone you can borrow money from? A Credit Card you can use?" Effectively still trying to hard sell me on the implants I had already told him I couldn't afford.
When I had my wife call to speak with them some days later to see about getting an actual cost for the simple denture plan. Suddenly the price of the simple dentures I had been given at $2900 and change which my insurance COULD cover. That cost had mysteriously inflated to over $7K. When I called to ask how the cost could have doubled, I was given a long run around about how they were planning to bill part of it one way and part another and because the calendar year had passed my insurance would no longer cover as much.
The office manager that I eventually spoke to after having dealt with Paul and him having hounded and brought my wife to tears with his high pressure tactics and extremely rude personality. Because I couldn't afford the expensive plan, the shift in demeanor and professionalism I experienced was profound to say the least.
As I was saying, when I spoke to the office manager she was never able to adequately explain the sudden doubling in price. The insurance ricka-ma-roll that she tried to spout at me was just double talk that they guessed most patients I guess would be too dumb to figure out. I understood every word of what she was saying, It's just that what she was saying was a string of endless falsities and fallacies all in an attempt to cover up the fact that they were trying to gouge me for the biggest payday they could.
Suffice it to say, I decided not to have my procedure done here. I have contacted another much more reputable office near me, that has given me a price more in line with what they had initially quoted me. While speaking with the receptionist at this rival clinic I mentioned to her the difficulties I had had with Advanced Periodontics and as soon as I had said the company name I heard a very audible sigh of disgust from the other end of the phone. I'll leave you with what she told me next.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that. We hear that a lot from their ex-patients
