I took my daughter in for a filling and Dr Sperbeck used amalgam filling on her without prior consultation with us. We do not feel amalgam is safe for young children but Dr Sperbeck felt the opposite. However, we feel an important quality of a good dentist is one who consults with you and not just go ahead and so something, esp when it is not an easily reversible process. I also found his attitude when discussing about amalgam to be condescending. I am disappointed as he came highly recommended.
