I went to Dr Schultz because my mother and sister both starting going to him when we moved to Tulsa a few years ago. Right away we noticed an unkind atmosphere in the office, the nurses were not polite or concerned with our happiness at all, and when the dentist came in I expected it to be different. My mother said that he was extremely short and curt with her, and when he cleaned her teeth he even missed some. When she brought my 15 year old little sister in, he didn't even talk to her, just to my mother like she was not even there. We gave them another shot later, when I was dying from a tooth ache from a past cavity, and the nurse set my appointment for 1:00 pm. I called at 1:00, told them I was running late and the lady I spoke with said, "That's fine, we'll see you soon." and when I arrived 15-20 minutes later, driving from Sand Springs, I walked in and the nurse, while still on the phone, just said, "You are too late, the doctor has already left." I was stunned. I told her that she had said it was ok if I was running late, and she says, "Yeah I meant 5 minutes or so, I didn't know you were going to be THAT late." I asked, "Is the doctor coming back?" She replied, "Yes but we have other patients that will be here by then."
About Hygienist: I understand that if you are too late, then the dentist won't have time to see you. But I also believe that when you speak to someone on the phone, you should let them know how long they have to make it, or at least be kind to them. After the last incident, my mother, sister, and myself all sought another dentist.
