When Dr. Scott Edgar sold his practice to Dr. Motlagh, I stayed with Dr. Motlagh. Her prices are higher than my other options because she is not a "provider network" dentist. Dr. Edgar was so good that I thought the service was worth the extra cost. I have not had the same experience with Dr. Motlagh, and in fact, have had trouble with my insurance covering some typical expenses, like crown work. I recently decided to switch dentists because my insurance refused to cover some work that Dr. Motlagh did. The insurance said the work was not needed, or at least based on documentation provided by the dentist. I was disappointed that Dr. Motlagh's office could not provide additional documentation, which makes me wonder if the work was indeed unnecessary. Anyway, the dentist was not willing andor experienced enough to provide support on the insurance claim, so I am switching dentists. I need a dentist that is experienced with insurance matters, as I can not afford to pay out-of-pocket for costs that should be covered by insurance .
