We've been patients for over 8 years and have always paid the above "customary" fees they charge that the insurance didn't pay. We've had a few instances where we've questioned something on my husband's account, and most recently, called to ask how something was coded since it had previously been partially paid. The office staff was not very interested in discussing it, and the conversation quickly regressed. I finally asked to have Dr. Hall call me himself. the next day, the same lady called to tell me 1- Dr. Hall didn't want to be involved, 2 - they would give us a partial credit and we'd pay the rest (which we agreed with) but THREE - we'd have to be cash patients from now on because they didn't want to deal with insurance issues. Keep in mind that we've NEVER had a past due balance with them, but from now on, we'd have to be cash patients. She told me that no dentist wants to file insurance, and they were not going to deal with those questions.
Apparently, after 8+ years, we aren't allowed to ask how they filed something, and we aren't valued as customers enough for the Dr. to return our call - and worst, we are now punished for questioning them. It's a sad day.
