I used to enjoy getting my teeth cleaned, always relishing the squeaky clean feeling of freshly polished teeth. And my teeth and gums are in pretty good shape, according to other dentists I have been to. After picking Dr. Tabor out of a directory I learned why it's better to heed the recommendations of friends and coworkers. Dr. Tabor has a very heavy hand when it comes to the routine checking of teeth and gums. "Painful" is the word that comes to mind to describe his style. Walking out of his office, my mouth was throbbing and sore. He is not as thorough as other dentists I have been to, either...maybe testing for cavities in three or four spots before deciding everything looks fine. Also, he tends to have a pushy salesman type of approach, recommending what sounded like unnecessary procedures to me. After I expressed hesitation about his recommendation for the extra procedure, his friendliness and professionalism evaporated. He handled me as quickly as he could and disappeared, leaving me with the hygenist.
