I went to Dr Fletcher for a few months initially to get cleaning done and later for some cavities. My experience at his clinic was fine until in one time when I was getting a cavity fixed and needed local anathesia. While administering the injection to me, Dr. Fletcher pinched a nerve in my tongue. For the first 48 hours, I felt that half my tongue doesn't have much sensation only because the anathesia is wearing off slowly. After 48 hours though, I got concerned and called into his office. It was at this point, that I felt the staff did not respond as expected. I would expect Dr. Fletcher to call back immediately with an explanation of what happened and how it an be fixed and perhaps an apology. Instead I had to call in several times, and do my own research online. Turns out that this is a known (albiet very small) risk of getting anathesia administered but I was not informed about it before the procedure. What's more scary is that it can take a few weeks or months or even years for your nerve to heal and there is not much you can do to help it along. During this time I did not have much sensation, could not taste food and didn't have as much control over moving that half.
