My daughter had braces put on when she was just over 14 years old. They were on for nearly two years. We did not have dental insurance, but she had a serious need for braces.
During that time, she unfortunately ended up with a root canal on a tooth in front of her mouth, because of an unusual congenital defect in her tooth, confirmed by other dentists also. Dr. Fu helped guide us in how to make subsequent appointments so as to fix the bad tooth during the time of braces being on.
The root canal cost extra--over $1000--on top of the initial down payment and then the $196 per month we paid for the braces--on a 0% credit card--for two years exactly. This all became stressful, but worked out with some discipline.
Later, my daughter had build-ups put on as soon as the braces came off, which was a need slightly related to the tooth defect. This was not done by him but took place, again, through his guidance on how to go about it. There, they charged another $1300.
Within the day that her braces were taken off her teeth looked amazing, as all final work was done on prompt time so that she wouldn't have gaps in her teeth for more than a few hours. Now her teeth are healthy and straight and her smile is bright! Thanks Dr. Fu and gang!
