When I was seen in c. 2004 by Dr Soltero, I was happy to take his recommendation to remove all silver fillings and replace with enamel colored fillings but I have had continual problems ever since he removed the one and only filling I agreed to have replaced. Thinking there was an issue with the bite, I returned for a filing of the replacement but later was told by a different dentist that I have a fracture in the tooth. In hindsight, I recall a phone call that took Dr. Soltero out of the office once he filled the tooth with the temporary material and the fears I felt as I sat for an extended time as the material dried. The fear was that something was going or had gone wrong. Perhaps the tooth cracked while he was away on the phone call. All I know is that I wondered if he had forgotten I was in the chair. Overall, I was pleased with his hands and his work but now I wish I had sought second opinion. I was not having problems with the tooth prior to this recommendation. Now the tooth must be canaled and capped and I haven't any insurance to have this done. Perhaps his son took his practice because I thought Dr. Soltero was soon to retire at the time of my service. Moral: Best to get a second opinion for extensive work.
