There are no TMJ specialists in the small town I live in. I was referred to Dr. Eng. by local dentists and commute over 2 hours each way for appointments. Prior to my first appointment, he consulted with me by phone for about 30 minutes and then gave up a lunch hour to squeeze me in.
My jaw had locked shut. My treatment plan included a mouthguard (with ongoing fitting), exercises and reduction of trigger points in the neck and shoulder muscles.
I appreciate the education he provides patients regarding condition and treatment.
Regarding expense, I am sure his rates are on par with industry standards, however I do not have insurance and pay out of pocket. Therefore it seems expensive to me. It has been worth it, though!
I found him to have excellent chair-side manner. He has genuine concern for patients and has followed up by phone several times to check on my status.
I'm not quite finished with treatment, but it has been very successfull so far. I highly recommend Dr. Eng for treatment of TMJ disorders.
