My brother and I grew up with Dr. DiRe taking care of my teeth and now I'm studying to be a dentist and my brother's studying to be an endodontist at UW. What more could you want in a recommendation?
He placed the majority of my amalgam posterior restorations over 20 years ago, and they haven't had to be replaced yet.
Great, easy going chairside manner with kids and adults alike (my parents still use him and trust his care). I don't recall pain being a part of my care as a child, so I imagine it went pretty well.
He always had a wall of Polaroid pictures of his patients that probably wouldn't work in today's HIPAA environment, but it was fun, and probably distracting, to see pics of friends before going in for my appointments.
