I have been a patient of Dr. Cane for more than two decades. He was highly recommended by two of my co-workers. One had a big fear of dentistry, but felt very comfortable with Dr. Cane.
I've never had a problem with dentistry, and have never used pain killer for a procedure. Many dentists do not feel comfortable working without anesthesia, and many will refuse to do so. If the two of us feel comfortable with Dr. Cane, I find it hard to figure who wouldn't.
Dr. Cane is very intelligent and professional, and teaches dentistry in addition to practicing. He is up on all the latest techniques and can address any concern thoroughly.
His facilities are what you might expect from a Berkeley doctor. They are not glitzy or pretentious, but they are well equipped for the job.
Dr. Cane does not work with all insurance plans, since some dictate terms, equipment or labs that do not meet his standards. His fees come out to nominally higher than what my insurance covers, but only by a few dollars. His hygienists are also very good.
I now live in Union City but still go to Berkeley to use him. I made the mistake of trying a dentist at the Fremont Dental Group after I moved, but I learned that a good dentist is worth the trip.
