I was referred to Dr. Karinen by a co-worker who had been a patient of hers for several years. I had a badly cracked and damaged tooth from a botched job by my prior dentist. Dr. Karinen used a state-of-the-art technique learned by attending continuing education sessions at a professional conference, and she saved my tooth. She has a conservative philosophy, and by that I mean that she is an advocate for saving teeth rather than pulling them. She keeps up with current techniques, she is expedient yet gentle, and she truly cares about her patients. When she sees something that concerns her, she explains everything clearly and involves the patient in the decision about what course to take. My husband and I moved to another town about 50 miles away, but we still make the trip to Beverly Hills for our dental care. Additionally, the support staff is excellent. One time they even went outside to plug the parking meter for me, because my procedure took longer than expected. There is virtually no turnover among staff; the same people have been there in the twelve years I've been seeing Dr. Karinen.
