When I went in for a consult, I was referred by my general DDS, at the end of my apointment, which literally only lasted about 15min if you are considering the time Dr.Milder actually spent with me, (and this is after they made me wait a considerable amount of time beyond my apointment time), when I checked out, they had me sign a treatment plan for the work that Dr.Milder was suggesting I needed, that, unbenounced to me, as it was not explained, showed a beginning balance in the far top right corner in small font for the cost of the consult. I signed the treatment plan to acknowledge that the treatment had been presented to me, but in no way was told about the cost of the consult, as no payment was requested, I thought the consult was complimentry as I had been referred. A month latter I recieved a statement saying I had a balance due, and when I called to inquire as to what the balance was for, the person with whom I spoke stated I had signed a reciept acknowledging the balance due. This is not fair!!!!!!! If you have me sign a treatment plan under the disguise that I am signing to acknowledge proposed treatment, to include a balance due without explaining it to the patient is not right.
