I was a patient of Dr. Don Kobashigawa for many years. He is a terrific dentist, has a wonderful staff and I felt very secure in trusting him to do root canals, crowns, etc. Don't get me wrong, he is a terrific dentist!
The down side is the price you pay to see him. He is expensive! He raised his rates during this recession, which really irked me. Still, I went to him. A gold crown, which used to cost about $1000 was now about $1250. He is not a provider in my dental insurance plan, so I had to pay a lot out of my own pocket. Then, I had a cavity. After the procedure was over, I was told the filling (or maybe the whole procedure to clean out the cavity and put in a filling) was $750!!! Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars! I'd never heard of such a thing. My new dentist says he's never charged more than $350 for a filling.
Don't get me wrong, Dr. Don (as he requests being called) is a wonderful guy, a great dentist and is well versed in the latest technologies. It's just that you'll have to pay for all that. For me, there are a lot of other great dentists out there whose costs are a lot more reasonable.
