I wore my bottom dentures for about 50 years and my upper dentures for about 40 years. In the last couple of years, I couldn't eat things like chicken, cooked vegetables or even rice. My mouth was sore all the time and I couldn't chew my food up and I started having stomach problems. I heard about dental implants, but I kept putting off having them put in because of the money and I was afraid to go through the surgery. Finally, I went to see Dr. Van Ameyde, he was very very calming. He's friendly and funny too. All of the girls that worked there were very
helpful. They helped me with my wheelchair and my oxygen. They really took good care of me. I'm not in the best health so he said I should get the mini implants. The surgery was much easier than I thought it would be. I had some pain a couple days afterwards, but it really wasn't too bad. I haven't gotten my new teeth yet, but I'm so excited because I can now eat all kinds of things. I went to Texas Roadhouse and order a filet mignon and it was tender. I haven't had a tender steak in years. I had celery one day and I could chew it. I can eat heath bars again and I even was able to bite into an apple!!!!
