I have PERMANENT nerve damage to my jaw after the extraction of 6 teeth.I didn't have the twilight sleep, otherwise I wouldn't remember this "Dr." saying "Oh SH_T!" when he cut a nerve removing one of my back teeth. The "Twilight" sleep is to make you forget everything that happened. When I heard that, my heart leapt into my throat, but I thought "He'll tell me what went wrong." But he didn't. When the numbness stopped, I was in EXCRUCIATING PAIN & called the office.Told to take a Tylenol!!Said I was going to the E.R. or his office. Back in his office w/spouse, who said I was white as a ghost and sweating profusely. I asked Dr. if this was NORMAL and told it wasn't!
The nurses began asking me if I took alot of aspirin or that this problem was the result of the color of my hair! I knew they were trying to blame me for HIS mistake because I color my hair! This doctor NEVER told me what he did until I finally asked and he said he "probably" just stuck the numbing needle in my nerve and the feeling would come back. Now, 3 years later, it is still numb. When he cut the stitches on that tooth, blood went everywhere. I know he would never admit to what went wrong if I hadn't asked. My dentist recommended him and it was Big mistake!!!!!!
