I was referred to Dr. Harwood's office by a dentist in my area when they couldn't fix my tooth (it was a wisdom tooth that had to be pulled). I got there early in the morning, without an appointment and in pain and the doc saw me right away.
The procedure was to take an X-Ray of my teeth, then I was sat down in a chair and the doctor walked in. I was somewhat apprehensive about the deal as I'd never had oral surgery done before. Noticing this, the doctor explained what he was doing and recommended some ways to deal with the apprehension, most notably suggesting it would be a good idea to wear headphones as the scariest part of the procedure would be the sounds coming out of my mouth as he broke up the tooth. Alas, I didn't have any.
Surgery itself took about 15 seconds. The doc applied anesthetic, made sure I couldn't feel a thing and snagged the tooth out before I even knew he was doing it. An excellent, painless procedure that took no time at all and erased my fears of oral surgery at the same time.
