I have been going to Dr Hecht for meany years. I return because I trust him. He is knowledgeable as well as competent. he continually educates me and is not an alarmist. The staff is friendly and welcoming is a bonus.

Dr. Hecht is great--reliable, straightforward, competent, reasonably priced. He's friendly and gives clear and complete information. His office is not fancy, and there's no hype, pressure, or oversell of unnecessary procedures.

I was referred to Dr. Hecht by my regular dentist after a cleaning showed my gums weren't as healthy as they should be. Dr. Hecht put me on to this great tool (waterpik), and sold it at a reasonable price. His staff was very nice, and if the office was small, I didn't spend all day sitting in it waiting to be seen. I appreciated his punctuality almost as much as the fact that he didn't push for a return visit (in fact, when he suggested the water pik, he explained that used properly it would improve my gum health so I might not need to come to him at all). How many dentists would encourage you NOT to come back? A+.
Also, I don't have insurance, so I needed someone who could work with me on prices. The exam was reasonable, and his receptionist suggested a medical finance company with great rates. With that financing I can take care of other health concerns too.

Dr. Hecht is easy to talk to, a straight-shooter who was very simple to understand. I felt confident in his experience, especially with periodontal matters (scaling, for example).
His facilities aren't state-of-the-art, but certainly aren't frightening -- maybe not the fanciest facilities off of Fifth Avenue, but it's still Fifth Avenue!
The administrative staff was also friendly and competent. Scheduling was hassle-free, no cancelations, no wait time, even.
About Hygienist: The hygienist was very personally critical and unsympathetic about the poor condition of my teeth -- not exactly comforting.

Dr. Hecht has a very calm demeanor. He was concerned about my level of anxiety and gave me medication to take prior to my next visit to address it. The procedure went well and he was good about telling me what he was doing. I highly recommend him.
