My experience with her was painful, unnecessary, and required me to seek reconstruction with another dentist. The office is not very clean (look at the floors and bathroom, it says a lot.) She and her hygenist look to make you feel badly about yourself, then they talk you into reconstructions, "deep cleanings," whitennings that you don't necessarily need.

Dr. Chan and her office are very nice and professional however she is probably more expensive than other dentists.

Dr. Tracy Chan has been my Dentist for the past 5 yrs. and I have complete trust and faith in her. She is very gentle with me and very good with cosmetic stuff too. She has always done a great job. Her office staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Wendy and Pat have been very accomodating and friendly with me. The office is located in Cow Hollow and on Union st. and is very convenient for me. The office is clean and well maintained. Dr. Chan always takes time to explain all the procedures to me and makes me feel at ease. She does not rush me to make decisions and I always have the option to think over any procedure or to refuse any procedure. There is no pressure and I do not feel rushed.
In terms of payment, I think her office takes most insurance plans and the office has helped me understand the billing procedures. With insurance companies there can be alot of confusion and I have learned alot from Wendy and Pat. Now I know that the insurance companies are not only trying to cut costs with my benefits, but they are not paying dentists what they deserve either! Dr. Tracy Chan's office staff does all the billing to the insurance company for me, even though I understand that it is the patients responsibility.

Dr. Chan's office is conveniently located to my home. They are flexible with appointments and the office staff are very friendly.
I think they have impeccable chair-side manners and always make sure that you are comfortable. I rarely am in pain or discomfort.
The only complaint that I have ever had had to do with insurance questions. When asked for help in getting costs of procedures and what the insurance would pay before I would go in, I would rarely get a call back. That could be frustrating.
Other than, they are great!

I have been a patient of Dr. Chan's for a few years. She has always been very thorough in the examination of my teeth and is very thorough in explaining things. Staff are friendly and courteous.

Just a warning for future employees: she will not pay you completely as promised. We had an agreement for a "working interview" but not only did she not reveal that she meant at half-pay, the final check was at a rate less than she quoted.
FYI While I was waiting for the initial interview, a patient complained that this was the 3rd time she had stopped by for a 5 minute appointment [reprobing for a one month periodontal evaluation] and had been kept waiting. The patient was finally seen after she had been waiting 45 minutes [but she was still very upset/angry]. She also kept me waiting over an hour for my first interview.
PPS. the one positive review here was only after I had warned her of this website and the other two bad reviews and written by a friend or family member of hers

I had a fabulous exerience at Dr. Chan's office. The doctor, staff and entire expericence was pleasant and painless! The doctor obvously has much experience with cosmetic dentistry and is very informative on educating patients. I recommend the office to all my friends because the dentistry is the best i've had and the staff is very friendly. I had cosmetic treatment done and could not be happier with the results, and I've searched for years for a good dentist!! FInally, one I will stay with. The fees were similar to other dentists for the same cosmetic treatment so the cost was not an issue for me.

Could not agree more with the previous patient.
Be very cautious.
And ask if she is a member of the SF Dental Society!
