Having changed jobs and locations, I needed a new dentist. Dr. Jacobs was on my new insurance. I have a history of very good oral care. I have had my teeth cleaned every six months for all of my adult life. I went in for a cleaning and was told I would need a debriding first and then "we will see what else you need." I left and checked with my previous dentist who assured me I was not a candidate for a debriding. Beware!
About Front Desk: Tried to force me to pay $5 co-pay after I refused additional treatments and didn't receive my cleaning. Refused to release my records.
About Hygienist: Hygienist was polite and professional but part and parcel of the intent to prescribe unnecessary dental procedures.

Dr. Jacobs and staff present themselves as professionals however are far from it. I had cavities and a whitening on my treatment plan after the initial visit and was told that the whitening should come before the cavities. After waiting over a month for the whitening appointment, I'm in the chair, the doctor tells me the cavities need to be completed first. I had taken a day off of work and waited a month in vain.
This sort of incompetence is probably far from just a surface issue at this office. There is now way I was the first patient with a cavity and whitening on my treatment plan. He offered a cavalier "sorry" without owning the mistake. I'm taking my business elsewhere.
If you're looking for a dentist with attention to detail, this is not your guy. Keep shopping.

I only went to Dr. Jacobs once, and he seemed nice but said I needed to see a specialist. The office is clean and the receptionists are friendly.

I have had my top 4 front teeth restored with porcelain crowns. Dr. Jacobs did a great job straightening my teeth with the crowns and matched my existing color of the teeth surrounding the crowns exactly! I love my new smile!
About Hygienist: I have had the pleasure of seeing both hygienists, Angel & Sandy. While their personalities differ, they are both equally skilled hygienists and I enjoy sitting in either one's chair!

I had Crowns done on 12/23/2008 and a week and a half later while eating a salad my crown cracked in half. It happend at 1:30 on a Friday afternoon and I called the office which was to be open until 4:00. It kept going to voicemail all day, I left about 5 messages and also drove to the office to find the doors locked and closed. I am in extreme pain and can't drink or eat. At 6pm the afterhours message finally went on and it left an emergency pager number stating that your call would be returned shortly. Since Friday I have paged these doctors about 100 times, left numerous emails and voicemails. My crowns with insurance were over 1K out of pocket and I can't even get a return call. It is now Sunday and still I have no relief, fortunately my Mom had some pain killers from when she broke her arm. I plan to arrive when the office opens in the morning and demand for them to fix my mouth, hopefully they open their doors tomorrow.

I went through two previous dentists since I moved to Florida 12 years ago, to find Dr. Jacobs. He is the best dentist I have ever found, in any state. I had a tremendous amount of dental work causing me problems and pain, some of which was the result of bad dentistry. Dr. Jacobs handled it expertly. The periodontist in his office is equally superb. I strongly recommend Dr. Jacobs.
He also knows how to give a shot of anesthetic to minimize pain.

I was in pain because of my wisdom tooth for past 3 days. Met and talked with Dr. Jacobs today and he saw my in-pain wisdom tooth. Diagnosed it as impacted AND infected. Prescribed the antibiotics The pain went away in 30 minutes. He has also recommended an oral surgeon. I was impressed by honest opinion from Dr. Jacobs. I will visit him for all my and my family's dental needs.
