Horrible experience and currently changing Dentists! Took my 6 year old daughter to Dr office to remove a loose baby tooth. He either didn't put enough numbing gel on gum or didn't wait the appropriate time for it to go into effect. He immediately started extracting it and she started crying, screaming and reaching for me. I yelled at him to stop, that the gum wasn't numb yet but he continued to FORCE it out. It was the worst experience I have witnessed especially w/ my 6 year old. I was shocked, yelling that it wasn't working and to stop.The tooth finally came out and Dr Campbell stood up and walked away! Not comforting her or asking if she was OK.. I held her and calmed her down wiping her tears. She has had nightmares and asked "what did I do wrong? Why did Dr Campbell hurt me?"
I called the office to get a better understanding or explanation of WHAT HAPPENED? The office manager dismissed any of my concerns, claiming that they do extractions all the time and there is some discomfort. WHAT?? It seemed like she was reading from a script if there were any complaints. Dr Campbell also refused to meet with us! This used to be a good practice but it has changed. Our entire family is switching practices.
