Read Reviews for Dr. Michael Stepovich
We have been patients of Dr. Stepovich for 15 years, seeing both my children, successfully. Although we did not attend, we especially appreciated his annual skating parties for his patients and his "monthly drawings" for prizes for the kids. He helps kids want to go to the appointments and makes it about the kids! His office in San Jose has video games for the kids and his entire staff is very kid friendly. We do recommend him always! .

His ability to explain treatments to patients and parents is very poor. He was very arrogant and condescending to me when I asked questions about my daughters proposed treatments.

Dr. Stepovich takes great pride in his work, he is very thorough and we have found him to be flexible with the payment options. On one occasion we needed assistance with a broken retainer for a patient (our son) who had relocated to the east coast. Dr. Stepovich found a local orthodontist to do the repair at no cost.
If Dr. Stepovich has a weakness, it would be that he is too professional. That is, he is so focused on his art that he misses the opportunity to relate personally with each patient.
We have also found the staff to be friendly, professional and personal. We have been very happy with the service and have no problem recommending Dr. Stepovich to anyone.

A quality orthodontist, with great patient relations, and my dentist agrees.

His hygienists and the staff at the front desk are really nice, helpful and gentil but he has horrible chair-side manners and everything has to be checked by him. On one visit I was kept waiting 40 minutes past my time because he was making a date for a round of golf with a patient's father and discussing why he was still single. He always tried to force things in my mouth and was constantly hurting me (like my retainer when it was made wrong the first time and was too wide and he forced it in anyway and left it there while I cried for five minutes before I asked to take it out as he was walking away). He also told me in the begining I'd have my braces off in 2 1/2 years. I got them off over six months late which isn't so bad in the long run except that he said it on track and didn't take care of the underlying cause. Now that I've had the braces off for 5 years my teeth are slowly shifting back (I still wear my retainer and it doesnt help, the gaps come back when its off) and because of the way he planned my teeth I had to get composits put on 2 of my teeth to make them bigger and now if they break or I want my teeth whitened I have to pay at least $650 per tooth because insurance doesnt cover them until 10 years later.
