I had braces put on me in the summer (August) of 2014, and it took around an hour but I was happy to get them on, so I could get them off as soon as possible. I expected them to hurt when they were getting put on, but it didn't! Everyone was so nice! Now whenever our next orthodontist appointment is close, I am always looking forward to it!

He reccommended extraction of teeth during orthodontic treatment & did not offer possible problems or any alternatives. Have had nothing but painful jaw problems since the extraction. He has made no attempt to rectify the situation!

After receiving a recommendation for a very expensive double phase orthod work for one of my daughters and on the recommendation of several friends, I took my daughters to Dr. Kaplin for a second opinion. I am so glad I did. He is very honest and does not encourage unnecessary expensive work. My oldest now has braces through Dr. Kaplin's office and we are very happy with the progress. I was advised to wait on my youngest (not what the the other orthod recommended) until she was older so as not to pay for braces twice on the same child. I have friends whose children have used Dr. Kaplin and their teeth after braces look great.

Hello, This is Dr. Ken Kaplin, I'm writing to respond to the 2nd and 3rd reviewers. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but the part that just cannot be true is that Dr. Kaplin slowly disappears. From the time the braces are placed I see every patient at every visit. Unlike every other Orthodontist-only office in the country, our office has all private rooms. Every parent, including this one, is welcome back each and every time -- for every procedure. And since there is only "one cook in this kitchen," it would not be possible for me to "disappear." Concerning review #s 2 and 3, since these are posted anonymously, I really don't know what happened with their financial situations. As orthodontists, we only bill insurance out for one procedure -- braces. As the years go by, we develop confidence that we are competent at billing out this one procedure correctly. But if the insurance issues were, indeed, our fault, my sincere apologies are offered.

Very relaxed environment, and there are different rooms for all patients. It's not like a regular orthodontics place with several dental chairs in one room.

Initially Dr. Kaplan is super friendly and seems like he wants to help. Then, he slowly disappears and you hardly see him. I filed a complaint and he didn't even have the common courtesy to give me a call but had his receptionist call me back and ask me for my email. Is he afraid? Lazy? I will NOT be going back and will swallow the cost of transferring orthodontists!

This comment is only for the customer service. The initial service was good. The pains started when we filed with the insurance. The office manager indicated that she had filed the correct paperwork. But, the insurance rep mentioned that this was not the case. So, we had to work on our own with the insurance. We relayed the same to Dr. Kaplin and in the end it was a case of shooting the messenger. He mentioned that we would need to find another orthodontist.
Sad thing is that we followed Dr. Kaplin's advice and performed the requested extractions but now we need to find another orthodontist. This is a new experience for us - having a dentist stop midway..

The office staff is awesome. Dr. Kaplin is very pleasant and straight forward. They get you in and out and have convenient appointment times. Treatment is not complete so cannot rate it as a complete success yet.

They are absolutely great in the office and really put the patient and parents at ease. They explain everything. No wait. Very organized. I love the board that welcomes new patients and lists who's getting braces and who's getting them off.
