Worst dentist ever. Don't go here. He'll break your teeth and then scream at you when you complain. He screwed up invisalign and caused damage to my front tooth (which did not even need positional correcting!) He curses and threatens anyone who brings up any issues. He is also a liar and major fraudster. Another lady I know unfortunately took her son to him and he cracked her son's tooth. When she complained, he cursed at them just like he did to me. This guy needs his license revoked. Every legitimate complaint brought up to him is either met with cursing, screaming, or rationalizing why it is ok for him to chip your teeth, rip out your fillings, or make your already straight teeth crooked while not fixing your crooked teeth at all. What a nightmare. Steer clear of this guy. He is a dental terrorist.
About Front Desk: Honestly, the front desk ladies are nice people. They end up having to take a lot of crap because of this horrible guy. I empathize with them and wish they could find nicer jobs because they seem like nice people.

Dr. Kowan is a great orthodontist. All my friends told me getting braces was painful but with Dr. Kowan it was painless. There are psp's in the chairs so you have something to do while your waiting. I did not mind going to the orthodontist while most people would. I recommend Dr. Kowan. He is the man.

Never had a problem with the front desk but i can safely say he did nothing for my teeth. I have now gone to a new orthodontist who almost thought i was joking when I said that work had been done on my teeth before. I dont think anyone should use Kowan after finding a bunch of people who agree with me I realized it wasnt me and he is just not a good orthodontist. Years later its still going to cost me close to 5000 to fix my mouth the correct way. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else, its already bad enough braces hurt don't put your kids or yourself through this twice.

Dr. Kowan and his staff are wondeful! Dr. Kowan is so funny and he really does a great job. My daughter just got her braces off and her smile is a million dollars. Dr, Kowan has been in Long Beach for a while and is by far, our favorite professional.
