He was my pediatric dentist and although I never had a problem with follow up for the treatments and everything was always properly sterilized/done pain free, he seemed rather cranky for somebody who has elected to work for and with kids.
The office is deccorated nicely, but he *at least when I was seeing him* does not seem interested in discussing appropriate preventative treatments with patients and their families. When he does discuss, it is in a very scolding manner which can increase some people's already ingrained fear of visiting the dentist. .
The dentist I subsequently transfered to for adult services recomended a great sonic toothbrush which finally helped me have great checkups.
See this guy if you absolutely must, but be aware there are others in the area who can and will provide more compassionate care to your kids.

Very poor 'chair-side' manner. He may be great with older children, but my 2 1/2-year-old was traumatized by Dr. Hollenberg's method of examining toddler teeth. And, in the year and a half that Dr. Hollenberg was my son's dentist, I never once saw Dr. Hollenberg smile or even speak directly to my son. It was not a very pleasant experience.

My children seemed fine with Dr. Hollenberg....... but I agree that he needs to take more time making them feel at ease. I liked the fact that there was something for the kids to do while we waited, which was never very long.....also a plus. My kids always enjoyed the staff. I felt like they were very quick to answer any question I had about what was going to happen with one of the kids.
I have only one complaint about his office and that is with one member of his staff at the front desk......... She was very rude to me and to my Mother over a billing issue. She made us feel embarrassed about the whole situation and was not making an effort to help but to blame. It turns out that they had recently aquired a new credit card machine and she was not using it properly. Once it was finally resolved she never once apologized for her poor attitude.

I highly recommend Dr. Hollenberg's office. Our two year old son had a cavity which needed to be filled. Naturally, we were very anxious about the procedure. We interviewed pediatric dentists looking for one that offered solid experience, and a child-friendly, supportive staff. Dr. Hollenberg met our criteria. He listened and understood our special needs. His office is bright and colorful, and offers something for children to do and read. The staff is supportive. They clearly went through the costs. His website offered us an education on first visits, and pediatric dental questions. He allowed me to accompany my son from start to finish. The tooth is now filled, our son no longer has tooth discomfort (he even seems happier!), and we are thankful there is an office like Dr. Hollenberg's. It's not an easy decision to take a toddler to the dentist. We now have peace of mind, and recommend Dr. Hollenberg to our friends.

When it comes to time management, he is the best. My kids hardly have to wait, we are in & out in 30 min. It's amazing.
However, the trade-off to this is that he doesn't really make the
effort of making small talk with the kids to make them feel at ease. Same goes with his staff, they are all so quiet. They don't really make kids feel comfortable.
Dr. Hollenberg knows what he is doing but my kids aren't too thrilled going to his office. He & his staff can sure use a little more fun now & then.

Dr. Hollenberg specializes in children's dentistry. The office and staff are very kid-friendly. The lobby has a play house for little ones. The exam area is open so parents and other patients can see that other "big kids" are going to the dentist too. A video game room keeps kids busy while x-rays develop. I took my daughter here for her first cleaning and the hygienist was just incredible at explaining to her what was happening in terms she could understand. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hollenberg.
