Had an implant 2 years ago. It failed and he would not stand behind his own work. I had left him as my dentist because he became exceedingly expensive with his new office which is gorgeous and the wait time for him became ridiculous. I thought he was a good dentist just expensive. Now with a failed implant (which I understand is quite rare) and his unwillingness to make it good, I cannot support him even as good or reliable. He is a nice man but that doesn't cut it.

I left after his prices became so high and the wait time increased to unacceptable levels. He had pushed me to have an implant for years which I did. When it recently failed after about 2 years even though they are suppose to be 95% successful, he would not make it good. His relativel new office is gorgeous which presumably accounts for his sky high prices.

I'm an adult and I had braces on my teeth as a child but, unfortunately, I didn't maintain them and they grew crooked with time so I decided to put them on again. My orthodontist was concerned about the limited amount of gum tissue that I had around many of my teeth (I'm sure due to my poor brushing habits as a kid) and she referred me to Dr. Matian. I didn't want to go to Dr. Matian's office but I had already paid for my braces and had no choice. When Dr. Matian saw me he advised me that I needed a gum graft in regard to those teeth that had such little gum tissue. As much as I didn't want to agree with him, I knew that he was right but I had never heard of gum grafts. Of course, it was totally uncomfortable looking forward to the procedure but I have to admit Dr. Matian was amazing; literally, amazing. I underwent the procedure with simple novocaine shots to the gums and roof of my mouth (not easy but definitely tolerable and I do believe that Dr. Matian masterfully handled the needle). The final result, now 6 months later, is truly miraculous. I had no idea that anyone was capable of doing this. I have totally healthy, full gum tissue around all of those teeth and I'm now wearing my braces. He's fantastic!

Dr. Matian was excellent. He has a wonderful bed side manner. I had Gum grafting done, I was extremley frightened and he was able to calm me down and move forward with my procedure. His office staff is also very kind with excellent customer service skills. iIwas having some financial problemes and the Dr set me up on a payment plan I could handle. I would recommend Dr Matian and his office to anyone needing a Periodontist.

Route canals, deep cleaning, gum surgery are all stressful and no fun. Dr. Matian is an excellent technician and his staff are very good. Dr. Matian made personal calls to me after my surgeries to check on my progress.
I recomend him in every way.

I highly recommend Dr. Matian! He's great at what he does -- even my dentist complimented his work! Having a gum graft could have been stressful but Dr. Matian took the stress out of the equation. A consummate professional, he obviously cares about his patients' wellbeing. His office also worked with my insurance plan to make life easier for me. I'm very grateful!

Dr. Matian is very friendly but provided very poor service. He scheduled a deep cleaning (my first time) and did not explain what it would entail or give me the option of doing half of the mouth first and half a few days later. The deep cleaning was very painful - he injected me about 20 times, very unsystematically (as he felt that I was feeling pain). He jumped all over my mouth very unsystematically during the cleaning. My entire mouth was numb and then they asked me to rinse my mouth! My mouth was dripping blood (of course I couldn't feel it) and by the time I got into my car and looked in a mirror, I looked like a vampire. He said the numbness would last an hour but it lasted about five. Thank goodness I had not planned to go back to work. Then, his office billed me for two visits - one for half the mouth and one for the other half - the second was billed for a date I was not in the office. When I told him about this, he was so surprised that they hadn't offered me two visits (but it was HE who had scheduled the visit AND performed the deep cleaning). In sum, I felt that I was just a patient to him (just dollars) and he did not care about my well-being until after I complained (months later).

he was curt, brief, and very busy. we discussed an extraction and implant but i was so disappointed by the flipper he made that i turned to another doctor for the extraction. the flipper was the wrong color, poorly made, and not very comfortable. dr. matian was very busy and not very eager to make many adjustments to the flipper. so when i wore it, i couldnt chew. he said that i didn't have to wear it very long so it wasn't necessary for it to fit very well. he didn't check my bite. dr. matian is very busy and always in a hurry. i frequently wait at least 30-45 minutes before his staff moves me to one of the exam rooms.
the office was busy, and his front office staff frequently tried to fit me in during odd times of the day such as for 15 minute windows during lunch or 8:00am in the morning. the staff also called several times to have me come in immediately or the same day to fill cancellations. i called dr matian's staff to send me some x-rays i forgot but didn't get them until a month later.
the front office girl with the huge diamond ring was not very friendly and a bit of a snob when i asked her if she would give me a parking validation.
