I have used Dr. Coven as my periodontist for over 25 years, including teeth cleanings, forms of oral surgery, and as an overall coordiantor for other dental procedures. She is the only medial provider I have ever had whom I would say is beyond excellent - she is professional, honest, and caring. She makes the expereicne of dental care easy. She calls in colleagues when needed. Beyond these qualities, she is personable and freindly.
I give her the highest possible recommendation.

Dr. Coven is beyond wonderful. She is capable, kind, caring. I had gum surgery that was pain free and saved my teeth. I would highly recommend her.

I have never liked any dentist, much less a periodontist, as much as Susan Coven - she is relaxing and honest - I like the way she admits that something might hurt a little bit, rather than lying - she's done a great job with my mouth and I recommend her to everybody I know.
About Hygienist: She does her own dental hygiene - the different between getting my teeth cleaned by Dr. Coven and by a hygienist is like night and day.

I had always been apprehensive about making my periodontal visits until I met with Dr. Coven. She puts one completely at ease and works with your pace, not hers! She is kind and friendly and will accomodate you the best that she can. I highly recommend her.

I went to Dr. Coven several years ago with loose teeth and bleeding gums. Today my teeth are stable, my gums don't bleed and I can easily eat a steak. I owe this all to Dr. Coven and my own desire to do follow up maintenance.
Firstly, Dr. Coven is 100% honest and will always tell it like it is from her point of view. She is also sensitive to the patients needs and she has a good sense of what the patient is going through. She was never pushy and let me decide when to do each leg of the surgery. She is extremely thorough in her work. As an example, she never lets me out of the chair until she has repeatedly cleaned & examined my mouth and every drop of plaque is removed. Her fees are affordable so that I am able to follow through with the treatments for a successful recovery.
Now for the good part. She is up to date on the latest treatments. After I started working with her to remove the initial tartar & plaque (which took several sessions of deep cleaning), she told me about a new product called Biora (?). It is applied after surgery to an ultra cleaned root. After a few months it helps regenerate new bone.
Now the great part. It worked!!! I can even eat steak even though I had 50% bone loss & infected gums. davenyc@aol.com
