Dr. Velasco performed my "upper all on 4" dental implants on 9/28/09. I initially met him briefly at the Renaissance Hotel in the Arboretum during a seminar about the procedures. He had such a kind/friendly personality. Once I met with him in the Austin office (Mopac), I became even more confident about the decision to have the procedure done. I had an accident when I was 12 years old and sustained severe trauma to my teeth/jaw. For the next 26 years I wore a removable partial. It made me extremely self conscious. Dr. Velasco gave me my life back! In fact, I just got my final teeth today (normal process is approx 5-6 months). I feel amazing! 2/3 of my life I hid my smile, now I wear it proudly! He is funny, friendly, gentle, thorough & a real artist in his craft. I had to hug Dr. Velasco today on the way out as he is moving to Houston (My hometown) to open the new Clearchoice center there. I do not have a single complaint about the entire dental implant process. He has trained his staff to be very friendly & patient. I only wish that I could justify getting my lower teeth done to match the uppers. I highly recommend this particular Prosthodontist to any and EVERYONE!

Staff is so lovely, The doctors are very professional and full of information. If you don't feel comfortable with dentist you will be after you leave this facility.

Dr. Velasco is very thorough and very skilled in his work. His office is very comfortable and staff is top notch! He really uses all available techniques to keep you pain free and uses state-of-the-art technology in determining the best course of treatment. We really like him a lot! Does not carry all insurance though.

Dr Velascos facilities appear to be very high tech. I have some very minor spacing on my top front teeth. This is after having braces while a teenager. They have moved as I've gotten older. Dr Velasco and staff was very pushy about getting veneers. I felt like this was made too much a priority over other items such as refilling old fillings, etc. Veneers are very expensive and my teeth are not your typical veneer candidate. My teeth are straight, healthy, etc. In the end it turned me off so I quit going. My new dentist has not even broached the subject, but instead is focused on my oral health first.
About Hygienist: At one hygeine appt, they did the sonic cleaning. When she was done I noticed a slight chip on a front tooth. She dismissed and said it was like that and only appeared more noticable after the cleaning. They ended up filing it to straighten it out. I don't know if it's possible to chip a tooth with the sonic cleaning but I feel pretty certain I did not walk into that cleaning with a chipped tooth. I have been wary ever since.

Dr. Velasco has an excellent practice. He's got excellent people working for him and state-of -the-art technology. But he can learn some things about gentleness. Once in your mouth, he tries to do everything too quickly and can be rough. He talks a lot, which is great for patient communication, but it's sometimes difficult to get a word in to alert him of an issue.

His attention to detail is unmatched. Facilities are modern and Dr. Valasco expects excellence from his staff.

Dr Valasco is professional and on time. His staff calls you ahead of time for you appointment and sends out a notice. I would recommend him!

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Velasco for a few years now. We have been happy with him and with his hygenists, but will have to change to another general dentist now because he is considered a specialist under our insurance and visits are not covered. His office is clean and comfortable and I have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for my appointment. Nice view from the chair too!

Very professional and probably the nicest dentist I've ever had. After going to another dentist, I felt that I was going to have to get 2 root canals, but he explained very clearly what was going on and what my options were. With the treatments he prescribed, the majority of my teeth sensitivity has gone away. I highly recommend him.
