This is a very nice office and great staff but comes at a very high cost. Not in network with most insurances and balance bills for hundreds of dollars per child in my case for xrays and exams. Offers financing and payment plans to pay your bill off.

Sent 2 children in for routine exam, cleaning, xrays and fluoride. Dr Alvarez was out of network, but after looking at my insurance assured me that it would cost about $30-$40 per child after insurance pays. Seemed like a reasonable price.
Later received the bill for $300+, which was AFTER insurance paid their part. So in short $150 out of pocket per child for those services...after insurance paid.
Won't be going back.

Like another reviewer, I got to go in with my daughter when she was 2, and she had a good experience. At 3, I was surprised to find out I could no longer go back with her, not even when they couldn't get an x-ray because she was crying. To add fuel to my fire, at the end of the appointment I did not even talk to the dentist that day and I'm not even sure she saw my daughter. I tried out a new dentist today who let me go to the back with my daughter and she had a great experience! Mommy being there with her made her feel comfortable, and did not make her act out for the dentist (which seems to be the concern with a parent going back for treatment with the child).

Felt very pressured to get expensive treatment for my son asap, yet he had no complaints of pain or anything. Going to get a second opinion.

My son's first visit was when he is 2 years old. We both went in together for his oral exam. But on his next visit (he was 3 yrs old), i was not allowed to accompany him. It felt wrong because my son was still a minor and i don't want to leave him alone with total stranger and me not knowing what they will be doing. Their office did not notify me first hand what things needs to be done with my son's teeth. I was expecting them to tell me first the procedure so if i have questions or concerns i can bring it up right away but no they just proceeded without notifying me. I will not recommend this to my friends if this is how their office operate. As a mother safety of my children comes first. So i hope Dr. Alvarez can understand my point of view. Her view is that work for them is easy if parents are not around with their children.

Although I agree that Dr. Ivis Alvarez is a competent pediatric dentist her staff is rude and incompetent. Her front desk associate, Tessa is abrupt and pushy and will quickly pass on her threats. Her other assistant that was to contact our insurance carrier for coverage was so far off base from what was covered that we ended up with a HUGE unexpected bill (over $1K) in the end and the only response I got for the error was, oh well you're responsible for the additional fees since Dr. Alvarez is out of your network. Would have been nice to know that was the case I would have contacted someone else in the area. We were purposely taken for a ride and will not return and will NOT ever recommend her for dental care.

My family loves Dr. Alvarez. Her staff is very patient and gentle. The office is bright, fun, and exciting. They are very helpful with billing and insurance. This office has been a blessing. My daughter had some very scary moments at other dentists and Alvarez's office has brought back her confidence. I cannot recommend them enough!!!!!
