2/27/2010 How great? SPECTACULAR care in a genuine, compassionate, convenient location. Easy, off street parking.
From the initial call, the first step through the door, this is a dental care team that really listens - hears your concerns - shows compassion and provides state of the art expertise. And they will give you options to make it within your reach.
I waited until things had fallen out of my mouth and I could not eat - after 4 of the worst dental visits of my life (warning: buyer definitely beware and yelp pacific dental "spa" before you go).
At San Mateo Dental Care, each and every person treated me with respect. My questions were answered fully, costs discussed in advance honestly. No upselling - no smoke and mirrors.
You are welcomed at the door as if you are the reason they opened the practice, even as other (clearly happy) patients arrive. The office is open, yet you feel your privacy respected as a patient.
Dr. Belen didn't just tell me what was going on - he showed me. He took x-rays, photos and took the time to analyze them before he showed me in detail what was going on. There was no hoping he was being honest - the tooth problems we discussed were in front of us both for a straightforward conversation, including live video.
Dr. Belen has a gentle tecnique, makes sure you know what is going on all the time, and involves his staff in your care in a professional, congenial atmosphere. You know that they like working together.
I'm writing this after extensive work yesterday afternoon. Am I sore? Yep - but not nearly as much as I was after less care at the other office. This is an office that helps you get over being afraid of dental care!
If you are looking for state-of-the-art dental care, offered to you by extraordinarily caring individuals who treat you with respect - this is the place.

I found Dr. Belen through 1-800-Dentist, and was pleasantly surprised. He is thorough, and caring. He is careful with his work, and very talented. I had extensive cavity replacement work done, and he has the latest tools, digital x-rays, and has a whole set of movies to keep you entertained while the work is being done.
My main complaint is his phone staff - I have a hard time communicating with them, but he quality of his work makes it worth my while to deal with the admins, and drive 40 mins to my appointments.
