AVOID! This dental practice used to be great, but it has completely gone downhill. The front office staff are overly stressed out and therefore are angry and rude to patients. No one -- from the dentist to the administrative staff -- ever returns phone calls. The staff failed to follow through in submitting a treatment plan to my insurance carrier, which created a huge mess and delayed my being able to get treatment for a period of months. The practice used to have Saturday hours, but that has stopped. The dentist I used to see is now there only one day a week. He has another practice in Contra Costa and is spread way too thin. This practice used to be known for its high quality patient care, but that is all in the past.

The doctor is quite inexperienced and lacks skills communicating. In my treatment with him, I sensed his indecisiveness once upon the end of his exam. He swayed back and forth in figuring out a treatment plan, and relied on me, who's clueless, on what we should do after. However, I can not dock the doctors physical attributes of his steady hands and careful technique. Now, that I've pointed out the positives of Dr. Wu, I hope that the sincerity of mine is now established with this review. And to be true to what I've experienced, I must say that Franklin Dental is not the worst place by any means. Only if they can truly treat us, their customers with less condescending rudeness and really work with and our experience with them more enjoyable, they can really be a great dental group.

I foun out a few months ago that I had to get a root canal + crown done, and also one deep filling on my rearmost molar (usually very difficult teeth to work in). Being a graduate student in Berkeley, the cost of such procedure was of a concern for me. I found Dr. Wu (and his associated endodontist Dr. Lim) from my insurance, and couldn't be more happier that I chose him from a list of other dentist.
I can only say the best about the staff that Dr. Wu has - when medical professionals really care about their patients, it really does show. They help me a lot to find ways to mitigate the cost of the procedure.
Dr. Wu is also very nice and very gentle. He inform me of every step of the process, so I can expect what were to come. I can really tell that he's doing his very best to keep his patient comfortable during the procedure. I am very happy with the results - definitely a five star !!
