Meet the Doctor
Dr. Edward Gottesman is a board certified Periodontist with a private practice in Manhattan. He also maintains a part time faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology and Implantology at the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook. He has lectured nationally to his peers on a minimally invasive gum grafting procedure for the treatment of receeding gums and on sophisticated bone grafting techniques for dental implants. He uses the latest technologies including computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to offer minimally invasive ("flapless") dental implant procedures. Additionally, by using state of the art regeneration techniques and materials, Dr. Gottesman has succesfully saved and maintained teeth for patients with severe periodontal disease. Recently, he has gained media attention for his cosmetic procedures to correct "gummy" smiles. His office is located in a town house on the upper east side of Manhattan. Dr Gottesman was phenomenal. The staff is excellent from making appointments to helping with billing. I was very apprehensive and nervous on having an implant done, due to the fact that I had to have bone graft done. Turned out to be I needed a sinus lift. I can tell you it was painless and quick. Dr Gottesman is the person you want to see for any work you need. He is detailed and very precise about his work. I am super super happy with my implant.

Dr. Gottesman and his entire staff are stellar! I have had two implants by Dr. Gottesman; both went smoothly. When I called with a question or concern, Dr. Gottesman or one of his staff called me back immediately. The most recent implant was done during COVID and the office protocols were exceptional. About Hygienist: I was most recently there during COVID and the entire office was exceptionally clean. They were limiting the number of people in the waiting room. All staff was masked and there was hand sanitizer everywhere.
Dr. Gottesman was wonderful. Even though I received my periodontal work through a donated dental program, Dr. Gottesman and his staff treated me will great compassion. I am elderly with health issues and the skilled care meant a lot to me. Margaret O'Reilly-Korte.

Dr. Gottesman and staff,
Where to even begin?! In the past 2.5 years I have had to have a lot of orthodontic work done, including wearing braces again. Along with the prior, I also had to have reconstructive jaw surgery all to fix a jaw malformation called class three. It was quite the experience. As I was nearing the end of my journey the final step was to have gum surgery. I wanted to go to the best, as I have at this point already invested a huge amount of time and money on the entire situation. Both my surgeon and orthodontist recommended Dr. Gottesman to me. I knew he would be the best, and I wasn’t disappointed. From the beginning his staff was kind and courteous. His patience and caring nature was evident as he took the time to explain everything to me thoroughly, and always made sure I was comfortable. Both he and his staff were always there to answer any questions that I had, even if they were questions they were never asked before. Since my very first time stepping into Dr. Gottesman’s office he always went above and beyond expectations. I am not from Manhattan and travel into the city for my appointments, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I actually looked and still do look forward to my appointments
I normally don't leave reviews however I was so happy with Dr. Gottesmans work and my results that I decided to share my experience.I came to see Dr.G for bilateral alloderm graft a months ago.I had some anxiety and reservations about the procedure but once I initiated the process and came in for my initial consultation with Dr.Gottesman he made me feel so at ease that I scheduled the surgery right away.Dr. Gottesman is extremely knowledgable and was very attentive, with amazing bed side manners, comforting and thorough at explaining every step of the process.During his detailed consultation he was able to cover all the questions and concerns that I had with regards to the procedure.There was absolutely no discomfort during nor after the treatment, however he still prescribes you pain killers just in case.The only discomfort was avoiding certain foods for few weeks and a bit of swelling for few days post treatment.His office staff is very nice and helpful.Following the surgical procedure and prior to my first scheduled follow up I received several routine calls from his staff to check on how I was feeling.My gums are completely healed right now and I couldn't be happier with results!I highly recommend Dr. G for any perio work!
