Read Reviews for Dr. Derrick Frye
Worst dentist in S. Louis in my opinion. Unprofessional service and staff. Dr. Frye did my crown on a molar tooth and first the impression didn't fit my mouth. He remade the impression, and then had to break the mold to actually fit it into my mouth. It was painful and I can feel a chip on my tooth as a result. The hygenist was incredibly rude on several occasions. Recently I have called for service and no one answers the phone. They do not return calls. I switched dentists 2 months ago and I cannot even retrieve my records from Frye Dental Group. I cannot stress how frustrating the Frye Dental Group has been.

Dentist was late by over an hour. Filling fell out less than two weeks after being treated. Several fillings from another dentist which were not bothering me "needed to be replaced." Dentist asked me about my religious beliefs and then proceeded to lecture me on them. Dentist was only minimally responsive to pain during procedure (am still in pain) and did not answer the phone during an emergency (responded 2 days later).
About Hygienist: Assistants seemed confused at times (marked wrong tooth on chart, unsure how to use x ray machine)

When Dr Frye did my root canal, he broke the crown above. He then told me that he had broken it, but that we could "work something out" and I thought this meant that he would fix it with minimal charge, although I thought that perhaps he would fix it for free, since he broke it. When I went in again so that he could look at it, I was charged $10 for the visit and was told that I would have to pay for the crown that he broke.
This is not the only issue I have with his practice, only the most serious one. I don't know how to get this resolved.
About Hygienist: Very good.

I've been a patient of Dr. Frye for a year now, and I am very unhappy. Everyone was nice, but there was no consistent service. When I call to make an appointment, the phone is not answered half of the time. Calls are returned several hours or a few days later. I waited in the waiting room for over an hour for my appointment without any warning from the front desk that there was a wait or how long it may be. I would have been happy just to have my name called so that I knew someone was actually in the office.
During my check-up, Dr. Frye checked my teeth and missed a cavity that was found two weeks later at another appointment. He is often doing many things at once, so you do not feel like you ever get his full attention. When I had a dental emergency, I called and left a message (no emergency exchange, just a cell phone number). I did not hear back for two days, after I sought the help of another dentist at my own expense.
