I went to Aesthetica on the recommendation of a friend. The dentist and staff there are all exceedingly nice and personable. I had a cracked tooth that needed repair and was recommended to have a crown placed. I was very concerned about a crown because I am young and know crowns only have a certain life before wearing out. I asked multiple times about whether it is needed and was told yes. Ultimately after the procedure was done, my dental insurance denied the crown claim stating that the decay and problem with the tooth did NOT warrant a crown. Apparently a filling would have been fine. Aesthetica takes many pictures and images and are unable to prove to the insurance that i needed a crown. Now I am left with an unnecessary procedure and the bill since Aesthetica will not take responsibility for this. I talked to them on the phone and they have no explanation nor would they let me talk to the dentist to discuss what happened. They have lost my trust and I will be finding a new dentist.

Dr Kollia operates a high tech, incredibly friendly and utterly professionally dedicated practice. She listens to your concerns: she and all her staff work to make you feel comfortable no matter what your level of anxiety. She laughingly points out she has small fingers which is a major plus when dealing with getting into the small spaces at the back of the mouth: and that is absolutely true. She operates the best facilities and has on site crown making facilities so crowns are a a one visit experience. If you have significant dental phobia Dr Kollia and her staff take the time to prescribe what anti-axiety medications will work for you, constantly check on your feelings and pain level througho and take care any pain that results from extensive gum work for example. If you are looking for a dentist who can show you in detail what she is doing using the latest photo technology with instant X-rays you can understand on the large monitor, explain why a specific treatment is necessary, and make you feel " taken care of and respected" I can think of no better place. The business side is beautifully run and it is seamless with the treatment. One of the best run businesses I have seen in Seattle which I recommend to all my friends.

About Front Desk: Sofi and Lori make you feel welcome, appreciated and truly make the office and practice run beautifully, Every part of the scheduled, reminders and approach with different patients is fun to watch. They clearly enjoy helping make this practice a success for patient and doctor.

About Hygienist: Being not the most diligent in flossing, the hygienist works hard to keep things healthy. From deep cleaning where they use a topical anesthetic, to the routine 4 month cleaning, they do a great job, explaining what is going on and being encouraging.

I made the mistake of not going to the dentist for 6 years, and I needed several cavities filled, including one on the side of a tooth, and a root canal on a tooth that had lost a filling. I have one more cavity to be filled, but so far everything has been great. I can't tell which tooth has the crown, and I can't see or feel the filling that is on the side of my tooth. Dr. Kollia is excellent. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I have no complaints about her or her staff.

About Hygienist: I've seen two hygenists, and both have been very friendly, thorough, and efficient. The one time I went in and I *knew* I hadn't kept up with my flossing, I wasn't made to feel like a 5 year old when I was reminded of how important flossing is.

Dr. Kollia is the best. She's kind and caring, all while doing the correct/ healthy thing for your teeth. She really reads you, if you're feeling nervous, and is very respectful of your feelings. I had to have my first root canal there, and I was extremely nervous and panicky. She was kind, gave me a while to calm down and feel better, and even offered options for me to make sure that I had a successful root canal. She's kind and takes your feelings into consideration while getting the job done. I really respect the work she does, and she's a great dentist. Another thing Dr.Kollia is great at is telling you what to expect when she is doing any procedure, that way you know ahead of time if she is going to apply extra pressure, or if something might pinch or sting. It makes everything easier, and creates less of a shock/ surprise when getting procedures done. I really appreciate that.

About Hygienist: ALL the staff here are great, the hygienists, as well as receptionists. They're so kind and patient. Danielle has worked with me the most, and she's really gracious and gentle, and has a great attitude. It's really nice to see her, she's so nice and friendly and makes going to the dentist a lot easier than it can be sometimes! She does a really great job.

Had less than pleasant/professional experience with my former dentist. I drug my feet to find a new dentist and knew something was wrong with a couple of my teeth. Researched on this and other sites and found Dr. Kollia's practice. I read about their ultra high tech tools and approach so decided to give them a try. Scheduled a new patient visit. First thing, the office is very modern and comfortable. Sofia at the front desk knew who I was and told me she already had coordinated my insurance information after our initial talk on the phone weeks earlier. I dont even think I showed her my id card. For the initial visit, Dr. Kollia and her assistant Danielle were ultra friendly and accommodating to my admitted dentist anxiety. They took MANY hi-def photos, digital xrays and put up a giant "tooth scoreboard" on the screen to display what they found. Dr. Kollia confirmed my fears about two problematic teeth with old fillings that needed treatment. Their hi-def camera even showed hairline fracture lines in one tooth which she was concerned could fail. With the help of Lori (Practice Admin) and I think Sofia, they compiled a treatment plan with my estimated coverage in real time showing insurance costs/my portion.

About Hygienist: Continued from above: Just had my follow up visit, a root canal and 2 crowns in one visit. Assistant Danielle was great and patient helping me overcome anxiety about the dams/bite block. They offered movie glasses but I listened to my ipod the whole time. Dr. Kollia was excellent - efficient and very sensitive to any discomfort. She explained everything as she went, we even joked that it was boring to some extent, I said "boring is good". The oddest part (in a good way) was, after what seemed like 90 minutes of root canal, high tech imaging for my "while you wait crowns" and all the prep work for the teeth, I got a break for them to machine the 2 crowns while I waited. A process that I think took about an hour or so to mill and bake. So, in this 'break' period, I was talking to Dr. Kollia while she designed the crowns on the computer (very cool), about her commitment & investment in the new technology and even about her practice of scheduling different. I was also invited into the lab to watch the crowns be made and baked in the oven. I felt like I was part of the staff (actually probably getting in their way), it was pretty cool. After the break, it was another 20-30 minutes to get the crowns finally fit and cemented to Dr. Kollia's liking. Then some final photos. I actually at first didn't know exactly which two teeth they had worked on, the bite and appearance is excellent, no pain, no temporaries, my crowns look like my teeth! It's really strange to think for somebody that hasn't historically enjoyed a trip to the dentist that the experience was incredibly positive. Dr. Kollia and Danielle helped me, knowingly or not, overcome my anxiety with their kindness and professionalism plus I was in and out in one visit pain free. Dr. Kollia essentially sets her appointments for major work like this to spend half her day with you (as mentioned above, she wanted to change the way her practice makes schedules). She wasn't busy ready to run off to check on other patients during the visit like many dentists, or if she did I couldn't even tell, it felt like I was the person in the office. Long review but well worth it. Dr. Kollia and her staff are great in every respect and their technology is incredible. I plan on being a long time patient from here on out.

I'm a new patient of Dr. Kollia's after finding her on this site, and I must say I am very impressed by her team's high-tech detail-oriented approach. Ever wonder what your dentists sees in your mouth? No more tossing and turning in bed wondering what they saw. You don't have to buy 50 mirrors to try to check out the insides of your mouth. Dr. Kollia and her staff goes through a detailed examination by taking multiple x-rays (19 of them) and hi-res pictures of each tooth (50 of them) and other areas of concern. Then they go through each area that's of concern, so you're well-informed on your dental health and what you can do to improve your dental hygiene. After the examination, Dr. Kollia pointed out several areas that I should be concerned about, which astounded me because some of the areas I look at on a daily basis and didn't know anything was wrong. She even knew what I ate for dinner last night! Overall, I loved the detailed examination and the cleaning process was painless. Dr. Kollia is my new favorite dentist. Is it weird that I want to go back to the dentist? Sidenote, Dr. Kollia and her staff were accommodating and gorgeous, which was a plus =). I mistakenly came in one day early, and they fit me in without a prob.

About Hygienist: Olga was GREAT. She did the majority of the examination and was very thorough. Although x-ray examinations are a bit cumbersome with all the biting and probing, Olga was very gentle and fast. She made sure to get the uncomfortable parts done efficiently and quickly. I didn't tear up once. Olga also did the first and last parts of the cleaning, and I was definitely impressed by her. Her work alone would make me go back to the dentist. She's very knowledgeable and comforting, so you feel at ease while you're on the chair. After the cleaning, I now feel like my mouth is the cleanest part of my body. I was hesitant to tarnish my teeth with food after that cleaning, but equipped with the knowledge that Olga dropped on me, I knew I could better take care of my teeth. Also, I could rely on Olga the next time I visit the office =).

First I would like to thank Dr. Kollia for my dental treatment at her clinic Aesthetica on East Lake Ave. Dr. Kollia is well informed, gentle and friendly. Her philosophy is focused on providing detail oriented dental care customized per individual needs and dental conditions and does not believe in one shoe fit all approach. She has outstanding staffs who share her philosophy. The Aesthetica clinic is not like any other clinic one might visit; it is an ultramodern digital clinic with the state of the art dental equipment and instrumentation. The moment I stepped in the clinic, I felt relaxed and confident in the dental care that I will be receiving. Thanks again to Dr Kollia and her staff for all the cares they provided to me. I highly recommend Dr Kollia to anybody.

I've been treated by Dr. Kollia for over 2 years. I was very impressed with her when she was a dental associate, but now that she has her own clinic on Eastlake; going to see her is even better. Her clinic is ultra modern; lives up to the name Aesthetica. She runs a totally high tech dental clinic. Besides the newest technology, Dr, Kollia is an amazing dentist. She is ethical, professional, highly skilled, personable, caring, and oh so gentle. I have a dental phobia, I shake, but when I'm with Dr. Kollia, I am pain and stress free. Her staff is also high caliber. Her office manager is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and works with you to meet your needs. Her assistant is very kind and gentle. I would highly recommend Dr. Kollia to anybody. I have had extensive dental work done and Dr. Kollia does outstanding work.

When you are a patient of Dr. Kollia's you can rest assured that you are in good hands. She is a very skilled, intelligent, warm, and trustworthy dentist. She looks out for the patient's best interest and doesn't try to "sell" you on procedures. She also has a great ability to explain procedures and issues you may have in terms that are clear and easy to understand.Her office space is modern, stylish and comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and gentle and always willing to explain billing, insurance etc. Highly recommended!
