I just had the best experience at the dentist today! I am so glad I found Ghent Family Dentistry, LLC because they were amazing!! A couple years ago I had an awful visit at another place that definitely ruined my thoughts of ever wanting to visit any dentist again. When I called this morning Gina was so patient and polite! She assured me I would be in great hands and boy was she right! Everyone in the office was so kind, caring, extremely patient with me and full of honest knowledge and love for what they do! When the Dr. came in she explained and showed me what I needed to make my smile better and pulled my wisdom tooth out so fast and left me without the crazy pain I had experienced before! These girls rock! Highly recommended!

Never again. Recommded expensive procedures that my new dentist said I do not need. Paid $20 to get my own dental records (2 pieces of paper). Showed up for appointment and told me it was cancelled (nobody called me). Unsmiling, not friendly- a miserable place to be and office staff do not know what they are doing. Makes excuses when someone does not answer the phone when it rings and rings ("someone was at a funeral" - that happened a few times).
About Front Desk: awful - also high turnover. Rude and seemed irritated if you ask questions about your bill. VERY DEFENSIVE.
About Hygienist: Techs are fine- friendly and no problem - they dont last long though - high staff turnover

The following is only my own experiences, observations and opinions. You should form your own opinion based on your own experiences:
I did not go to Ghent Family Dentistry / Dr. Cauthan on a recommendation – but only
because they were conveniently located – and figured since I have not had a problem with health professionals in the past that there would be no problem: I was WRONG.
After over 2.5 years with this dysfunctional dentist office - I am never going back.
Unprofessional. Passive aggressive hostile office manager (OM) and a dentist who does not listen, is unresponsive, sullen and “checked out” and does not appear to even enjoy her occupation. Dr. Cauthen appears “put upon” and impatient if you ask questions about your treatment. She does not like to be questioned and gives monosyllabic, cursory and impatient answers to complex treatment questions.
She recommended the most expensive, time consuming and invasive options rather than the other available less expensive and less invasive options. Problems: #1. She assessed my condition to require ALL my teeth be crowned and some alignment procedures at a cost she estimated to be $30-$35K. Considering that is 28 teeth, that IS a reasonable estimate- fo

I had my teeth cleaned,cavities filled,x-rays taken. My treatment is fine, and she has great chairside manners. The office staff was very friendly, and made me feel comfortable. I would reccommend Dr. Cauthen to everyone I know....she's the BEST!!!!

She told me that I had 10 cavities and I went to get a second opinion and I actually only had 1 cavity and a replacement filling!!! Charges way too much for unnecessary procedures. Does not explain procedures, very rude to her staff. I wound NEVER recommend this dentist to anyone since she will fill your teeth for no reason!!

Performs procedures appropriately, normal pain, moderate cost, no billing problems in filing insurance forms, friendly and helpful, hygienists do a thorough job with the cleaning, front desk fine but waiting room is small and needs remodeling.
