Dr. Shang is outstanding! She is by far the best dentist I have ever had. I always hated going to the dentist before going to her. She is always gentle and very sensitive to her patients' fears. She does very good work with minimal discomfort. I have brought my children to her since they were toddlers and they love her! She is wonderful with them. I highly recommend her!

avoid this dentist --- she caused more harm. This is a real horrible experience.
She is not specialized in endo-dentistry, but she openned up all my wife's root canals at my wife's first general check-up visit for toothache --- without first notifying my wife about the treatment plan. My wife's symptom got worse after Ms Shang's operation. Eventually she just left one root canal uncleanned, sealed the canals, and put my wife on pain-killer for a week without doing anything. This eventually led to severe infection in my wife's chin-bone. We had to visit a different oral surgent to have the infected tooth/bone extracted.
Desipte of the failed treatment, the dentist still charge the full price for root canal treatment!

i love dr. shang. some people say she is too harsh and rough, but i personally like it bc i feel like she really gets in there and does a very thorough cleaning. i think she's pretty expensive though...a routine cleaning costs $170, which if you dont have insurance (which i didnt)...seems like an awful lot. but her office is very clean and you dont leave feeling dirtier than when you came in, like many offices in new york.

About a week before, i noticed minor irritation in the back of my jaw. One week later after arriving home late one night, the minor irritation developed into a full blown toothache. The pain kept me up al night and drove me to fervorously search for a dentist. I called a good friend who recomended Dr. Shang. I called her office around 2 AM. At approximately 9 AM, a secretary professionally called me, informing me of a opening at 10:30 AM. I rushed over, upon entering, i was formally greeted and asked to fill out forms. After waiting less than 15 minutes, I was welcomed into one of the treatment rooms where an assistant took multiple xrays. Dr. Shang came in ten minutes later, informing me that it was my wisdom tooth impacting my lower right jaw. After a detailed and professional consultation I agreed to have my wisdom tooth extracted. The doctor administered anesthesia and proceeded to operate on my jaw. All throughout the procedure, both the doctor and the assistant meticulously operated on my tooth all the while ensuring my absolute calmness and comfort; after my lips were drying out, the assistant applied vaseline to moisturize them.
Two weeks later, the secretary called to remind me to return for suture removal.

Doctor Shang is a very nice person and very professional indeed.
She takes time to explain the details of she is doing or about to do and makes sure I understand.

She's extremely nice and patient. Her facility is large and clean. What impresses me most is that she never rushes me into any decision. In fact, when I was eager to arrange my treatment faster, she cautions me against it.
