Superior practitioner especially for cosmetic concerns. Uses Ceric system so crown can be made while you wait in 1 visit (note front crowns still need to be made in offsite lab and those are excellent also as he uses lab in Monterey).

Dr. McConnell did a terrible job on my veneers and now I'm getting them redone with a new dentist. He told me it would take only five visits to do the top and bottom teeth. It took more than 20 visits and they look awful. Dr. McConnell did not have me do a color preview of the veneers before gluing them on permanently. The color was painted on by his lab guy who made many mistakes. They're way too white, bulky and don't look like natural teeth at all. Dr. McConnell neglected to run dental floss through my teeth right after gluing them all. Had he done that I would not have to go to his office numerous times to have him chip the glue off. I have consulted with several dentists since and they all agree my veneers look bad. Plus, Dr. McConnell lacks integrity.
About Hygienist: Their hygienist was no better. She said my gums were in bad shape and suggested I do this expensive, deep cleaning treatment. I went to two other dentists for a second opinion and they said my gums are fine. One dentist suggested it was time to give Dr. McConnell the boot and I agree.

Dr. McConnell did an awful job on my veneers. What should have only taken only a handful of visits turned into over 25 visits and he did a really lousy job. I had to get my veneers re-done which caused further trauma to my teeth.

Dr. McConnell is personable and available. His pain control procedures are excellent, and the results from his procedures (mostly crowns on molars) have been esthetically pleasing and have held up through the years. In emergencies I've always been able to reach him to the point of having him come in before or after hours or on a weekend when I was in pain. He also calls after every procedure to make sure you are doing ok. I believe he is fairly expensive, but in line with what other dentists charge in the area.
