Love Dr. Hoffman and am sad that he's retiring. His colleague, Dr. Joy, is a great dentist, and I'm glad to be left in good hands.

I started with Dr. Hoffman when my tooth broke in the mid-1980's. He handled it quickly and competently and I still have the crown. Since then I have had a number of fillings and all work done excellently. He is quite gentle and low-key. His hygenists clean your teeth gently by hand, although they take about an hour (reminds me, I should get my teeth cleaned). My only problem with him is expense. I don't have dental insurance but I received a letter from him saying he does not accept Delta, they didn't pay enough. I pay out of pocket and it really adds up. A cleaning with x-rays runs about $200. But that's life in the Bay area I guess.

Our dentist for iver 25 years. I recommend Dr. Mike to anyone who needs a great dentist. One drawback is having to bill Delta Dental yourself for reimbursement.

Dr Michael Hoffman has been my dentist for many years and I wouldn't ever consider going to another. His work is excellent, he's humorous, his staff is wonderful and they always work you in - if you have an emergency. And the good doctor usually calls to see how you are doing, the evening after your appointment. I've had extensive dental work by Dr. Hoffman over the years including crowns and his work is always exceptional. Plus the office is relaxing where you recline with sunglasse to receive your dose of painless, pleasant, dentistry.

Recommended by a friend, Dr H is very personable and professional. He's also adaptive to his patients: I like a running commentary of what the dentist is doing, my SO hates it, we both like Dr. H.
