I was at a convention in Sacramento and had a cap fall off. I called for an emergency appointment. I got in quickly and had great service by the Doctor and the assistant. Just outstanding.

Dr, Hanefield has been our family dentist for 24 years. He is gentle, considerate and very skilled. Everyone we have sent to him has been very pleased. Our bills are accurate and clear. The office is nicely decorated and has extra touches like amenities in the restroom and fresh flowers and local artists' work displayed in the waiting room. It is an almost spa-like environment. The staff is friendly and helpful. Yes, they do openly chat about other patients but only by first name and in a very positive way. It actually is relaxing and makes you feel like a welcome guest instead of a patient.

I have never had a problem with any service. Dr. Hal is extremely considerate to how you feel and SO gentle. I have actually fallen asleep while he works on me and I am pretty sensitive to pain.
About Hygienist: Great Staff all the way around. Very personable and helpful

Dr. Hanefield is not only precise but he puts me at ease everytime I have either a cavity or just a regular cleaning. His premises are spotless and his staff is gentle and thorough. I would recommend him to from children to seniors. His dispostion in an A+.

Dr. Hal & Staff are wonderful! They put me at ease from the moment I called them. I had a difficult case and they were able to give me a beautiful smile.

This office is terrible now that other dentists have left. After three years of enduring this place, I have finally found much better.
Poor communication about costs involved at any time, poor follow-up and care. My bills after very good benefit coverage was surpassed were a complete surprise.
Emergency appts are quickly insisted upon, and I suspect they are largely unnecessary. Long waits in the waiting room are uncomfortable with the children of staff, who are accustomed to spending hours there themselves..
Worst of all, patients are treated like either animals or machinery- Hanefield and staff candidly discuss other patients while working on you, and never seem to realize that you are a thinking, listening human. (For example, I seriously don't need to know who is on methadone and what their heroin history is.) Considering many Capitol staffers and lobbyists go to this location, I would rather not know about my colleagues, or have them know anything about me.

Never used Dr. Hanefield, but Dr. Stiger was great! She was very pleasant to work with and used plenty of novacaine!
