Read Reviews for Dr. Terecita Dean
Ms. dean ordered dental trys for me for $500 but failed to ever deliver these trays to me. She avoided me on follow ups, her assistants refused to help me and they refused to refund my money. I have never been treated like this anywhere before. I would not recommend anyone to go to dr. dean - ever.

My worst dental experince. She attempthed a root canal on a painful tooth (Destroyed the preexisting Crown in doing so).Said she was unable to do root canal because of blocked channels. Charged me for a new crown. Tooth became very infected and painful over several weeks. When I returned to her office she said it would probably be best to pull the tooth!!. Went to an endonist on my own..who had to preform two root canals now and saved the teeth. (The one next to it was now also infected.) Needless to say I changed to a new dentist. This dentist pointed out other problems with some of the other work she had done..including an ill fitting gold onlay with a hole next to it that was leaking and now decaying. It had to be replaced with a new crown.. (I also remember when I came back to her office for the 2nd appointment to have this onlay installed on my tooth I waited in the dental chair for over an hour. When I complained I was told I was next and not to worry only to be told later that the dental restoration was "lost" and they would have to redo the impression and I would have to come back in 2 weeks!! They had spent the previous hour looking for the restoration but did not feel it was important to tell me what was going on. Beware!

She left me in pain for months with an infected nerve that needed a root canal while trying to sell me TMJ services that cost $20,000 dollars. Now I find out the root canal even has to be redone and she over charged me by the hundreds...

Although a little expensive, treatments and cleanings are relatively painless. She's friendly and pleasant.

Dr. Dean folded in some additional work during my treatment without advising me beforehand or obtaining my consent. Overall, I felt rather in the dark about what was happening, and was not given any clear outline of treatment options--she just went right ahead (in this case, did composite fillings). A subsequent dentist told me her work looked just average--he could see that there wasn't particular care or skill applied to the work. When I returned after a period to have the work double-checked, I was treated inappropriately, as though I were being troublesome as opposed to the practice being responsive to my concerns. I do not recommend her or the overseeing dentist of this practice.

Dr. dean is a very caring Doctor with modern facilites. I like her use of lasers and organics rinses. She is sensitive to your pain.
I sometimes have difficulty understanding her (strong Jamaican accent.
Her billing system is very hard to understand, and I believe she is a bit pricey.
Overall I recommend this dentist. I have only visited her Alameda office

I never had a crown. Dr. Dean gave me my first one. I didn't know how it was supposed to feel so once the check-up went alright I thought that was the end of it. I tried a new dentist referred to me and mentioned a minor issue with the crown. He looked at it and told me to go back to her to have it filed down, that it was something they should have checked for during the follow-up. I am disapppointed. The procedure was not cheap and the service was average. She's been my dentist for a few years but over time the standard of customer service - at the front desk, from Dr. Dean and her assistants - has declined. I have also heard of similiar complaints on other review boards. Proceed with caution.

I went to see Dr. Dean several years ago. Within 2 minutes of seeing me she was trying to sell me a biteguard and a deep cleaning. When I asked her if there was evidence of me grinding my teeth, she admitted that there was none. Her exam and cleaning were very quick and her assistant screwed up my x-ray. From my experience, I do not believe Dr. Dean cares about her patients and is only trying to milk them for $$$ by selling unnecessary services. When I went back to my office to complain about her, it turns out that 3 of my coworkers had had the same exact experience with her!

Dr. Dean has been my dentist for over 7 years. I have had mixed results. She often makes me wait 45+ minutes in the waiting room. Her assistants and staff are very professional and friendly, although a few times they have made glaring mistakes.
She gained my trust by declining to do two expensive procedures (a veneer and a crown) that another dentist had wrongly, but intentionally for the money, recommended.
Dr. Dean is normally quite capable, but a few times she has done poor dental work, and still charged the same high prices. Make no mistake, they will try to get every last dollar from you, and sometimes they are worth every cent., but other times they are grossly over-priced.
