Not a very nice dentist. He does the job quickly and inaccurately. Did not even take the time to explain anything to me, and became emotional and unpleasant when I told him I had discomfort after procedure. Then he became rude. I felt like he was treating me like I was a cow and not a person. I did not have the right to speak.

I've been a patient of Dr. Maiese since 1981. I've had cavities filled, chips repaired, a wisdom tooth extracted and decades of general maintenance.
Dr. Maiese and his staff have always been kind, courteous and efficient and have delivered excellent dental treatment and preventative care.
I don't have dental insurance, but find the charges reasonable- on a par with what most of my friends report paying.
I highly recommend Dr. Maiese.

Recently, my old dentist started cutting back hours in preparation for retirement. So I went to my wife's dentist. The first impressions have been very good. I did have a cavity and the procedure went quite well. Dr Maiese uses technology well providing detailed pictures of one's mouth while describing issues and treatments.

I was very disappointed in this practice. The hygienist was nice, but when I went to see Dr. Maiese, he tried to sell me everything including the kitchen sink. I ended up with some veneers that are very white and look like big whale teeth. I was quite upset that he put them in permanently before I could even see how they look. Even though I showed my displeasure, the only thing I got was a big fat bill because this guy doesn't take insurance.
The facilities were outdated and looked like I had stepped into the 80s. The staff was generally nice. The hygienist did a pretty thorough job. I will not be returning to the office and found a wonderful dentist in the area who can fix what this guy ruined.

Dr. Maiese got me over a lifetime of dental fear and anxiety. He is kind and patient and extremely dedicated to his patients. His veneers, crowns and other esthetics look like and function like the real thing.
Dr. Houjisoon, his partner, has provided treatment to me for the past 6 years and I love her work as well. They are a first class team.

I started seeing Dr. Maise three years ago, and he gave me two porcelain crowns just over one year apart, lower 12 and 6 year molars. The second crown chipped where the tooth met the tooth behind it, and instead of remaking the crown, Dr. Maise filed down the chip. This visibly changed the shape of the tooth! resulting in my upper teeth shifting when the cusp of my upper 6 year molar moved into the space left from Dr. Maise's filing. I suffered pain in my jaw from misalignment, and all of the upper molars on that side of my mouth shifted a bit inward. When I went in for a checkup and told Dr. Maise about this, he was dismissive and condescending and told me that I would not be able to feel if my teeth moved "a millimeter." He suggested more filing for the lower molars on the opposite side to make me "more comfortable." I do not consider more tooth loss an appropriate answer. My teeth have found a comfortable spot to "rest," but my previously perfectly symmetrical bite is now slightly "caved in" on one side, and whether it was a 1mm shift or a 10mm shift, I know my teeth have moved and that my tongue feels "crowded." Dr. Maise did not make any offer to help return my teeth to their original state, except for more filing.
About Hygienist: Cynthia, the hygienist in this office, is nice and pretty thorough. She could be a bit more aggressive attending to the interior gumline of the lower molars.

I visited Dr. Maiese after having some very poor dental care by other dentists. His recommendation was to undertake significant restoration of my lower teeth. He undertook an exhaustive restoration plan and, in association with Dr. Stiglitz, oversaw the creation of the new lower permanent bridge and implants. Dr. Stiglitz did the periodontal surgery and set the implants and Dr. Maiese did the design and implementation of the bridge itself. The results have been fantastic. After several years the system is stable and working very well. I would recommend Dr. Maiese for any patient but especially for those who are normally anxious about dentists or those whose teeth present particularly difficult issues.

Dr. Maiese has been my dentist for 25 years. My dentist-averse wife has seen him for 20 years, and wouldn't ever go to anyone else. He is pleasant, gentle, and extremely attentive to patients' needs and fears. Hard to imagine a better dentist -- and the staff is great, too.
