I started seeing Dr. Maise three years ago, and he gave me two porcelain crowns just over one year apart, lower 12 and 6 year molars. The second crown chipped where the tooth met the tooth behind it, and instead of remaking the crown, Dr. Maise filed down the chip. This visibly changed the shape of the tooth! resulting in my upper teeth shifting when the cusp of my upper 6 year molar moved into the space left from Dr. Maise's filing. I suffered pain in my jaw from misalignment, and all of the upper molars on that side of my mouth shifted a bit inward. When I went in for a checkup and told Dr. Maise about this, he was dismissive and condescending and told me that I would not be able to feel if my teeth moved "a millimeter." He suggested more filing for the lower molars on the opposite side to make me "more comfortable." I do not consider more tooth loss an appropriate answer. My teeth have found a comfortable spot to "rest," but my previously perfectly symmetrical bite is now slightly "caved in" on one side, and whether it was a 1mm shift or a 10mm shift, I know my teeth have moved and that my tongue feels "crowded." Dr. Maise did not make any offer to help return my teeth to their original state, except for more filing.
About Hygienist: Cynthia, the hygienist in this office, is nice and pretty thorough. She could be a bit more aggressive attending to the interior gumline of the lower molars.
