Read Reviews for Dr. Gary Seiden
I originally chose Dr. Seiden because I was impressed by his volunteer work, however my opinion of him quickly changed. Dr. Seiden is impatient and unkind and I do not recommend him.
I had dental work consisting of 3 fillings that were causing pain and discomfort about a month after the treatment. Instead of listening to my concerns at the follow-up, Dr. Seiden was rude and condescending and tried to insinuate that "something was up." I don't know about you, but I don't want to endure novacaine and drilling of my teeth if it's not absolutely necessary. Of course my teeth hurt and for him to mitigate my concerns was insulting.
I don't believe that this was a one time situation, because on my initial visit to the office, he adressed another patient in a similar manner. That woman simply had an insurance question that was met with impatience and sarcasm by Dr. Seiden. I only wish I had followed my gut and found another dentist then--it would've saved me a lot of money and wasted time.
Please do yourself a favor and find another dentist.

Very professional and thorough. Dr. Seiden will do the cleaning for you if you ask. He is full of interesting stories and usually on time, which is unusual for any doctor! I'd definitely recommend him. They do include flat screen TVs to watch during a cleaning or procedure, although it's kind of hard to view them when reclined.

Dr. Gary Seiden is a great dentist. He is kind, caring and very professional. He made sure I understood everything that he was doing. He helped me determine a treatment plan and stressed the urgency of my actions, but in a way that wasn't at all frightening. His offices are neat, clean and state of the art.

The facilities are not great (no music or movies as is advertised on the website and the sink to rinse out is across the room so you have to get out of the chair). The hygenist who cleaned my teeth kept hurting my gums.
I was charged a lot for a routine clearing ($300) and, this is what really bothers me, his billing staff told me the entire charge of the visit would be covered by my insurance but t it wasn't (his website makes a similar representation: "Usually the most common procedures like exams, radiographs, and cleanings are still covered at 100%.") My insurance covered less than half the cost of the visit. I called his office to complain, they said they would look into it and get back to me, but they didn't. I received a bill for the same amount a month later.
I realize it's my responsibility to know my insurance so I paid the bill, but he has definitely lost me as a patient. The service was not great and I feel that I was mislead because his staff made it seem that they were knowledgeable about insurance coverage when they were not.

Went in for a cleaning and to discuss options regarding my shifting teeth - I had orthodontia long ago and haven't worn retainers and it shows. Dr. Seiden did the cleaning personally, not an assistant, which I found unusual. He immediately launched into a sales pitch for Invisalign that lasted through the cleaning, including a quote for $5500 for that treatment. This quote was significantly higher than another I'd received for Invisalign and was apparently based only on a quick glance at my x-rays from that day - maybe this is his flat fee regardless of the individual case specifics? I was looking for a consultation, not a sales spiel, and for serious thought about the right treatment. Although the cleaning and other experiences were generally fine, I will probably look for another dentist going forward.

DuPont Dental is a disorganized nightmare. Seiden is obnoxious and rude and he does shoddy work. The receptionists are clueless.
The office he 'leads,' DuPont Dental, is trying to sell itself as a 'dental spa' type environmentl. It's a cheap, ugly, nothing special office - the exam room has a DVD player. wow. neat.
I strongly suggest staying far away from DuPont Dental and, more specifically, Gary Seiden.

Went in for a cleaning after two years and ortho consult; explained everything thoroughly and was friendly, as was everyone there.

Dr. Seiden is a wonderful dentist. My wife and I were in DC and looked everywhere for reviews of good dentists. Finally found Dr. Seiden and stayed with him the entire time we were there. He has a modern practice with a great staff. Very personable. Had a number of cleanings and two fillings with him and all went very easily. He's done extensive traveling and loves talking about that and riding his bike around DC. We were sorry to leave DC (and Dr. Seiden) and now are restarting the search for a good dentist in Boston.
