very simple story. Severe abscess intolerable amounts of pain. I was given an antibiotic and told he would give me nothing for the pain because he believes the pain is a great reminder to show up you're appointment. enough said. Now I'm sitting at the hospital in the er in incredible pain. Thanks fit your help Dr Balkom

I have had two fillings where Dr. Balkcom was very quick and I felt only mild discomfort. I have also had my teeth cleaned a couple times, and I plan on going back to get a check-up and get teeth whitening. I have already recommended this dentist to colleagues and friends. Dr. Balkcom is very good at his job.
About Hygienist: Miss Pam was very efficient and extremely friendly!

I adore Dr. Balkcom! Have been with him as my work moved from Gwinnett to England to Italy and back..... I always came back to the US depending on when Dr. Balkcom could see me. I've had 6 (or is it 7?) crowns and they continue to be beautiful. The office staff and hygenists are the best.... they are always sensitive to me and my sensitive teeth! I will stay with this dentist until either he or I am gone.....
And the best thing?? He uses LAUGHING GAS! So I'm always laughing.

Dr. Balkcom is very calm, gentle, reassuring, and efficient. He is very knowledgeable and gives the patient a thorough explanation of what is needed. He also tells you what he is going to do before he is going to do it. Wonderful people skills and great communication skills.

I don't know what the other poster was thinking but I think Dr. Balkcom gives the best service I have had for dentistry. His office is spotless. His staff is courteous and intelligent. He explains all procedures on a level where anybody can understand what is going to happen. He treated my 14 year old for a root canal that he had to have as a result of a rugby injury and my son wanted to eat at McDonald's on the way home! You can't get much better than that.

Had complete change in staff and office and billing was terrible. Dr Balkcom presents realistic solutions to dental problems as far as possible success vs. cost. Poor notes, often had to remind him why I was there. Treatment was good overall considering state of my teeth. Too disorganized for me. I am looking for a new dentist.
