Dr. Kaufman puts your mind to rest about each procedure. His quality of work is superb. He is quick but I never feel rushed. He makes sure that his patients are satisfied. He is also timely. If he says a procedure is 15 minutes, it will be just that, and he always on time.
About Hygienist: The hygienist here are excellent also. They are thorough and gentle.

Dr. Kaufman is a wonderful Dentist, honest, straightforward, personable, and effective in providing care. I would go nowhere else.

I've been going to Dr. Kaufman all my life, though for the past decade or so it's been more the son than the father. They are true professionals, the son especially has really kept up with all the latest advances in dental care, maintains the highest standards of care (the only time he's not pleasant is the rare situation when someone on his staff has made a careless mistake, he just doesn't tolerate mistakes), always with good chairside manners for the patients. Unlike a lot of dentists, keeps appointments without getting far behind schedule, I've always been seen within about 5 minutes of my actual apppointment, and usually right on time. It's hard to get an appointment because his hygienists are so good, but start with them, and keep up the regular check ups with these guys, because when it comes to dental care, you don't really want a bargain, right? You want the best.
About Hygienist: I go to Gayle, who is both very pleasant, and highly skilled, but the whole staff is excellent.

I have only been to this office a couple times and haven't had a lot of work done by them so I can't speak to their skill on complicated procedures, but I will go back. Dr Kaufman seems very nice and efficiently fixed an old glued-in wire retainer I have when I just came in for a cleaning (I'd thought I'd have to come back in to get that taken care of). The hygenist who did my cleaning was also extremely nice -- easy to talk to, funny, and gentle with my sensitive teeth. I would definitely go back just to have her clean my teeth again.

Called for an emergency and they got me right in. Staff very helpfull and efficient. The office was very clean I would highly reccomend Dr. Louis Kaufman

Service is hast and efficient, and the office is well mannered. He accepts some insurance, and gives discounts to those associated witht he University of Chicago. He seems to do what is needed and not try to find phantom fillings. He often brings in new dentists to help out. Some have been great, while others have not been as good. (You have to explicitly choose to see the "newbies" - however, it is generally much easier to get an apointment with them. They would generally do their own cleanings.) My wife has not had quite as much success. He does not like composite fillings, and instead because he has had to replace too many. Thus, he suggested expensive porcelein as an alternative to amalgam. However, a brand new dentist struggled to get it in properly.
