Dr. Bruce Hiura is a great gentleman periodontist. He treats me delicately and I am very grateful to him for his high degree of professionalism and his sweet disposition.

Dr. Hiura gave me gum grafting surgery on 3 tooth. He's very experiened, friendly and gentle, so are the staff, the whole experience was as good as it gets (given it's not the most fun experience.) He even called me the next day (on Saturday) to make sure everything was ok.
If you have any periodontal work done, I'd highly recommend him. I don't have much experience with periodontists (thank god!), I'd say he's the best in town.

The doctor pushes his client to do something that they don't want to do. Charge is really expensive. His assistant (the lady) rejects to provide the exact amount that client has to pay and require clients to check their insurance by themselves. If clients have to check all of the insurance by themselves, we can do her job then.
When clients refuse to do what they want, they will reject to provide other services even if we set up the appointment half month ago. (Just tell the client that you don't have to come in)
Dr. Hiura's assistant (a lady answers the phone is real bad) Customer Services is extremly poor. She needs to improve her attitude.

Dr. Hiura and his assistant recently did root planing on my entire mouth (in 2 visits). He numbed my moth very well and did a great job on the root planing procedure. He didn't "slip" once. It was the most extensive dental procedure I have ever had. Dr. Hiura and his staff were the best dentists to ever work on my teeth. He is very patient, explains what he's doing, has a steady hand and does not rush to get the job done. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Hiura implanted replacement bone material, with growth hormone, into my upper right jaw under 4 teeth. He and his assistant were gentle, competent, and a joy to work with. The operation was a complete success, restoring my bone mass to over 80% of expected (it had been at 50%). The operation itself was painless. Recovery was somewhat painful, but dr. Hiura's office prepared me well, and provided appropriate treatment. His office has been very professional and handled insurance, followup visits, and billing well.
