Read Reviews for Dr. Steven Shear
I had 2 crowns done by doctor shear within the course of 2 years. The first crown I had done fell out in under a week which Dr. Shear did replace at no cost. I recently moved back to home about 5 hours from Indianapolis and have had terrible issues with both crowns. Both Crowns came loose and eventually ended up falling out. The dentist I have now showed detailed pictures of how Dr. Shear did not place the crowns correctly or make for a correct sitting on the gum line. Since each was covered initially by insurance I was forced to have the crowns redone by a different dentist at full price. I tried to contact Dr. Shear through phone and mail but he would not return any of my calls. I paid (or my insurance paid) Dr. Shear very good money to do the work he did. His lack of communication or follow up with me in regards to both of my crowns falling out is a good indicator that this Dr. is lacking in quality.

Dr. Shear has always been great... however; within the past few years, with different office personnel, they chose the path charge a $150 cancelled appointment fee due to to an illness, rather than keep my business. It still shows on my credit report today and it remains a bit hurtful to me that the kindness was turned to this under the circumstances I had that day.

Good value for Cleaning and Extractions. Called around and found prices for procedures to be about 30-40% less expensive than his competitors. This is helpful for people without dental insurance.

I had a bad experience with another dentist and was leary about going to a new dentist. Dr. Shear performed a root canal with complete success, I did not even have pain after the procedure.
Professional and I feel like I can actually trust him, compared to my previous dentist.

After being a patient of Doctor Shear, I had always felt at ease and very well treated for several years... The office staff has changed and for some reason the patient relations seems lacking by the new office staff. When I had to cancel over the phone for an appointment , an ubrupt fee was assessed because i didnt' call and let them know I was sick 48 hours earlier (still not sure how i couldve done that)... I still haven't paid this fee.. If pursued further, I will fight it. Ashame he is a great guy, with funky policy now.

I was not at all happy about the customer service of their staff! The dentist was late to the appointment, they couldn't find my records to check me out on time; computers were not working, and I was not at all happy with the way that he filled my cavity - very uneven. The appointment was rushed becuase his staff overbooked him.

Cleaning up after the mess someone else did on my front crown wasn't an easy job, but Dr. Shear and his staff made my smile even better with the job they did. I am very pleased with his work and will hopefully never have to change dentist again.

I have always had a wonderful experience with Dr. Shear- who actually works on his patients. Also, his staff is very friendly and helpful. I was very sad to leave Dr.Shears care when I left Indianapolis to move to New York.
