Dr. Mark Tepper, who has been my dentist since the early 1980s, epitomizes what a caring, careful and compassionate doctor should be. He is not only a consummate professional — a dentist's dentist with impeccable credentials, decades of experience and an amazing attention to detail — he also is a wonderful listener and a kind individual. I have been treated by Dr. Tepper for about three decades and I can say without any hesitation that you won't find a better endodontist.

Ok, so we all know that there is nothing fun about having a root canal done. The best that you can hope for is that it is done carefully...and as efficiently as is possible.
I'm pleased to say that my experience with Dr. Tepper exceeded my expectations for what a root canal entailed. My last root canal (my first root canal) was about 30 years ago. In that time the process has changed, now moving to a process where a microscope is used during the procedure.
Dr. Tepper explained how the usage of the scope makes it possible to work in areas (my root canal was needed in the top back tooth) which would have been very challenging to work on without the benefit of magnification.
The office itself is in Rockefeller Plaza, which is certainly a nice address. Keep in mind, you will need to check in with the security desk in the lobby and receive a pass for entry to the elevators.
The office (which is shared with 2 or 3 other dentists) is nicely decorated and very clean. There are rest rooms located across the hall from the actual office (keyed entry).
Dr. Tepper is a very engaging and meticulous individual. In an age where people are concerned with the bottom line, it's nice to be treated by someone who didn't try and rush the procedure and took the time to explain the what and why about what was being done.
Although the experience was not without discomfort (mainly just keeping the mouth open for an extended period) the overall experience was as good as could be expected.
If I needed (and let's hope that I won't) another root canal, I would not hesitate to return to be treated by Dr. Tepper.

Dr Tepper is a model of professional excellence is this age of commodity health care. He is thoughtful, meticulous, gives more than generously of his time and attention (making space in an emergency, coming in early or staying late, if need be), professional to a T, always pleasant, and willing to listen to, and really hear, the patient. His peers would do well to learn from how he practices. I couldn't recommend him too highly. He is, without a doubt, the best.

He is the most amazing dentist in the world. They do not make them like him anymore. Caring, listens to you, never have pain after seeing him. Gentle. Will stay after hours for you. Will come in special for you if you are having pain. Never rushes. He is just AMAZING. I feel very relaxed going in and out of his office.
Staff is very nice. Everyone is very professional. Everything is clean. I honestly love going there. I wish he could be my dentist for all my teeth problems not just root canal.

He is very nice and considerate for the patients. Very skillful. Even his cost is higher than many other dentists, he spent more time on my root canal, around 10 hours totally. I heard some dentists spend about 1 hour for root canal treatment, asking for 400 dollars. He saved my tooth which one dentist suggested to extract.
