I I have never experienced more pain, both during cleanings and in procedures, than with any other dentist.
And I felt he wasn't good about catching problems early on. I went for a checkup every six months (once I waited 9 months) but he didn't find one cavity until it was very well advanced and I had to have the tooth pulled. Sometimes when I would have xrays taken, instead of looking at them on the spot and explaining to me what needed to be done, I was told by the xray tech that the dentist would notify me LATER if there were any problems. I have a feeling he never even bothered to look at the xrays, otherwise he would have caught the problem earlier and saved my tooth. I will not be going back to Dr. Ja.
Also, it was very hard to get an appointment for a checkup. You have to remind yourself to book an appointment for a couple of months in advance.
And he usually insists on working on one tooth per appointment. For example, if you need three cavities filled, you will have to come back three times. I wonder if that is because each office visit requires an additional payment in addition to the cost of the procedure.

Most horrible experience! I went in for an extraction of my wisdom tooth which was fully erupted. Dr. Ja was ambivalent about doing the procedure but agreed to perform it. I thought the ambivalence was only due to the fact that the procedure would not be worthwhile for him in terms of monetary compensation and not due to incompetence. In fact, he tried for 1/2 hr to extract and was unable to complete it. He chipped my tooth and it was loose and hanging halfway out of its socket when he told me I needed to go to a specialist to finish the job. His staff were also not helpful and did not ensure that a specialist was found to take over my case. The worst part is when Dr. Ja and his staff closed the office and left for lunch while I (with anesthesia wearing off)frantically tried to find a specialist with an emergency appt. available.

Very nice and gentle dentist. Did a very good job. First I was afraid as the office didn't look very modern but the equipment turned out just fine.

Initially went to Dr. Ja because of my health plan but am very pleased with his service overall. There's nothing fancy about the office, but the staff is really helpful. The dental assistants are average but it all depends on who you get and the most important part is the actual work done by Dr. Ja. I've been there for the usual cleaning, replacing fillings and even extracting a tooth. Have had no experience with pain there and find Dr. Ja very easy to talk to. He's also friendly and very efficient.
